Kate had known she was different from a young age. Although she had no idea of the reasons why. Russia by her single father when her mother had died and no one would tell her anything of the woman. Kate knew it was not for any other reason than it was too hard on the man. The only place Kate had ever felt anything resembling comfort was when she was asleep. Dreams and the world of them were the only place she had felt like herself.
Although it was a coping thing, she knew she had taken with her from childhood. There was always one being there, though. The one who had given it to her. So when her life was in danger there was a lot more going on in a world she had no idea existed. She would have to face the reason for her difference and also make room in her life for the truth of that being that protected her.
