The Girl from the Brothel. Child Slavery and the Global Sex Market in the 21st Century is an interdisciplinary analysis of modern child sexual exploitation as a global, demand-driven system. Drawing on international data, legal frameworks, institutional reports, and documented survivor testimonies, the book examines how forced prostitution, trafficking, and child marriage continue to affect millions of children worldwide despite universal legal prohibition.
The study demonstrates that child sexual exploitation is not confined to poverty-stricken or conflict-affected regions, but exists across all continents, including within highly developed democratic states.
