Résumé

It's the First of June, and two boys, Reed Weston and Keith Durham, who just graduated from high school, decide to take a road trip through Nebraska, the Dakotas, and into Canada. Somewhere along a lightly traveled back road, Keith vanishes! Given his propensity to play practical jokes, Reed isn't convinced Keith is truly missing. Forced to face reality, his search leads him on an adventurous journey through Native American sacred grounds where others have gone missing over the years. Reed, after exhausting all possible explanations, begins to suspect an alien abduction, but local law enforcement agents aren't buying that one.
After ten days of searching, he heads home to Missouri, out of luck and out of hope. Months later, the missing buddy, or so he claims, shows up at Reed's door. But something doesn't add up. Who is it who knocked at Reed's front door, and why is he posing as Keith? Why can't anyone else see that it's not really Keith? The possibility of an alien abduction is only one potential. This story will take you on more twists and turns than an Ozark Mountain backroad.
Just when you think you have the answers to what has happened, you'll be blindsided by the actual story's ending.
Randy Linss was born on January 13, 1958, in Clinton, Missouri. His cherished boyhood experiences of growing up in a picturesque storybook village of a slower, simpler day provide much of his writing inspiration today. He was a 1976 graduate of Cole Camp High School before studying creative writing at State Fair Community College in Sedalia, Missouri. His adult years have been spent in various entrepreneurial ventures across the upper Midwest.
He has lived his entire life in Missouri cities, including Columbia, Jefferson City, and Rolla, before retiring to his current home in Clinton, near the shores of Truman Lake, where he and his partner and proofreader, Beverly, enjoy a simple, quiet life. His hobbies include reading, writing, hiking, bicycling, and following his beloved St. Louis Cardinals.
