Résumé

South BeachBook Two of the Sheridan SeriesLaila Sheridan has ended things with Malcolm Khalid, a charming man with an even more charming way of avoiding responsibility, and she's convinced that a girls' getaway to glamorous South Beach with her college roommates is exactly the reset her confidence needs. What she doesn't expect is for her vacation to turn into a media circus, with Malcolm circling back into her life at the worst possible moment, and Graham's magnetic Psyche colleague, Gray Ryley, sent to manage the fallout.
Gray has been assigned to keep Malcolm at a distance and the paparazzi off her trail, a job that puts him closer to Laila than either of them planned for. He's spent years keeping his feelings for her carefully professional. Now he's the one man standing between her and the chaos she keeps attracting, and he's discovering that protecting her heart and guarding his own may be two things he can't do at the same time.
Alongside her, Sofía and Marina are navigating their own South Beach seasons, one chasing a truth about her own beginnings she's spent years avoiding, the other learning that faith, not fidelity, is the hardest thing love ever asks two people to share. Together, the three women discover that the family you choose can hold you as fiercely as the one you were born into. This edition has been newly revised and expanded, deepening the Sheridan family's world with richer emotional interiority and the kind of hard-won grace longtime readers will recognize immediately, and new readers will fall into completely.
South Beach is a story about learning the difference between a man who makes you feel wanted and a man who actually shows up, about friendship strong enough to survive real conflict, and about a faith that meets women exactly where they are. Rich with Black love, cultural warmth carried south to Florida sun, and a family readers fell for in North Star, South Beach is Book Two of the Sheridan Series, and Laila's story is only getting started.
Angeline M. Bishop writes contemporary Christian women's fiction that is thought-provoking, refreshingly entertaining, and rich with romance, faith, and the bonds of chosen family. Born in Washington, D. C., she has spent most of her life in New Jersey and considers the Garden State home. Her childhood passion for writing carried her to a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Stockton University and a Master of Arts in English and Creative Writing from Southern New Hampshire University.
She is a longtime member of Romance Writers of America and served as the 2016 president of the organization's Cultural, Interracial, and Multicultural Special Interest Chapter, where she also founded the AMB Ovation Awards, honoring outstanding achievement in multicultural romance literature. Angeline is the author of the Sheridan Series, a Black Christian women's fiction saga that began with North Star and continued with South Beach, which landed her on the Amazon Bestseller List and has been called a gripping story of sisterhood, one that reminds women that sisters by choice can hold a bond every bit as strong as sisters by blood.
Both novels have recently been revised and expanded for readers old and new to fall in love with all over again. Beyond her own writing, Angeline is a co-host of the With the Quickness podcast, a member of First Baptist Church of Lincoln Gardens, an adjunct professor of English at Middlesex College, and an office administrator at Rutgers University. She remains an active supporter of causes including Susan G.
Komen for the Cure and Any Soldier, and continues to enjoy helping fellow authors strengthen their craft. Of all the hats Angeline wears, her favorite will always be trying to be a positive role model for her daughters, Resa and Nicole. She resides in Central New Jersey with her family.
