Résumé

North StarBook One of the Sheridan SeriesCaresse Aldana has already survived one marriage that nearly cost her everything. She isn't looking for another. But when her job puts her across the table from Graham Sheridan, the magnetic, maddeningly charming editor-in-chief of Psyche magazine, business starts to feel like something else entirely, and her heart, guarded for eight hard-won years, begins letting him in one careful inch at a time.
Graham has never met a woman he couldn't manage. Then he meets a woman who won't let him. Caresse doesn't need rescuing. She needs a man who shows up, tells the truth, and chooses her again on the ordinary days, not just the beautiful ones. Whether Graham can become that man, before his own fear costs him everything Caresse has already survived once, is the real question at the heart of this story.
Then someone starts targeting the Mason Community Center, the place that saved Caresse's family when her marriage nearly destroyed it, and the danger closing in threatens to take away the one thing she trusted to stay standing when nothing else did. This edition has been newly revised and expanded, deepening the Sheridan family's story with richer emotional interiority, a fuller cast, and the kind of hard-won grace longtime readers will feel right away, and new readers will fall into completely.
North Star is a story about the courage it takes to love again after loss, the family you choose alongside the family you're born into, and a faith that doesn't erase fear but sits with you inside it. Rich with Black love, sharp with Southern warmth, and honest about what grace actually costs, this is the first book in the Sheridan Series, a family saga readers won't want to leave behind.
Angeline M. Bishop writes contemporary Christian women's fiction that is thought-provoking, refreshingly entertaining, and rich with romance, faith, and the bonds of chosen family. Born in Washington, D. C., she has spent most of her life in New Jersey and considers the Garden State home. Her childhood passion for writing carried her to a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Stockton University and a Master of Arts in English and Creative Writing from Southern New Hampshire University.
She is a longtime member of Romance Writers of America and served as the 2016 president of the organization's Cultural, Interracial, and Multicultural Special Interest Chapter, where she also founded the AMB Ovation Awards, honoring outstanding achievement in multicultural romance literature. Angeline is the author of the Sheridan Series, a Black Christian women's fiction saga that began with North Star and continued with South Beach, which landed her on the Amazon Bestseller List and has been called a gripping story of sisterhood, one that reminds women that sisters by choice can hold a bond every bit as strong as sisters by blood.
Both novels have recently been revised and expanded for readers old and new to fall in love with all over again. Beyond her own writing, Angeline is a co-host of the With the Quickness podcast, a member of First Baptist Church of Lincoln Gardens, an adjunct professor of English at Middlesex College, and an office administrator at Rutgers University. She remains an active supporter of causes including Susan G.
Komen for the Cure and Any Soldier, and continues to enjoy helping fellow authors strengthen their craft. Of all the hats Angeline wears, her favorite will always be trying to be a positive role model for her daughters, Resa and Nicole. She resides in Central New Jersey with her family.
