Résumé
After three thousand years in deep space, the Salvation nears the end of its journey to the star system ahead, but humans continue to be human. The Chief Engineer lies at death's door while her mass murderer runs unchecked through the ship, and her daughter learns secrets of a former lover who now wears a priest's collar. The Pope faces chaos and controversy as he spins his webs, and the Captain must take dramatic action to save his ship from interstellar disaster.
The second book of the Serving Salvation series is a suspenseful tale of politics, murder, relationships, and hope. The reviews for Book One are in!"This is not my usual genre of book to read however, I have read several other books by this author and always found them quite good so I decided to give this one a try. I am glad that I did! This story brings so many interesting ideas and concepts. While it has an interesting sci-fi background, to me it was so much more.
The book has many fascinating and diverse characters with several sub-plots, including political intrigue, sociological upheaval and even a little romance. Even if the book hadn't ended with a cliff hanger I would be buying book two. Can't wait!""It took me a few chapters to get caught up in the book. The "on board ship" society the author created is fascinating in its complexity. I want to go work in the engineering section, that sounds technically fascinating.
I'm looking forward to landfall and how that works out."---JT Hume started life as a rambling man. Born in El Paso while his US Army parents were stationed in Texas, he's been boots-dry in forty-plus states and lived in three countries. He's a proud Nevadan and product of the Silver State's K12 and higher education system, and he proudly served in the United States Air Force. The best decision he ever made was when he asked Cassidy Carson to marry him.
The jury is still out on whether accepting said proposal was Cassidy's best decision. JT Hume's books are formed from his knowledge and interest in politics, government, and Nevada. His characters are pushed through strategies honed over many years of playing bad chess. You might say his books are flavored with the love and romance he's shared with his soulmate over their decades together. Please read his books and reach out to him with questions, corrections, or constructive criticism.
