Résumé

Evil comes in many shapes and guises, and Mitch Pembroke keeps running into it-creatures so dark that enemy soldiers during the Great War and mobsters during the Great Depression seem far less threatening by comparison. Not all trouble is of this earth. Some of it is mired in Other Worldly Danger. Contains: No Man's Land, Leverage, and Angelique. No Man's Land: The Pembroke Steel and Tales of the Tomahawk series collide in this gripping short novel revealing what really happened when Mitch Pembroke, Kit Moran, and Ansen Grost met in between the Allied and German armies in No Man's Land.
After the war, the three men would encounter many creatures that modern science could not explain, but it was in the ruins of an old church surviving between the two armies that they first learned how dark the world truly is. A peril that dwarfs the threat posed by the Germans is creeping out to feed and demonstrate the true reason why the area is called No Man's Land. Leverage: Mitch Pembroke, accompanied by his best-friend and bodyguard, Kit Moran, is in Newport News visiting Jenny Lee Danforth and her family, hoping to spend a few pleasant weeks getting to know them in preparation for the coming wedding.
But all is not peaceful in Virginia and a storm of vice and corruption threatens the security of the entire Danforth clan. Jenny Lee's older brother has involved himself with the mobsters who run the local gambling halls and he is in way over his head. Can Mitch find the leverage to protect the Danforths from his soon-to-be brother-in-law's idiocy? Or will his and Jenny Lee's future collapse with her family like a house of cards?Angelique: It is amazing how a few words on a piece of paper can cause such dread.
The telegram took Mitch back to the Great War when a daring group of rescuers braved the terrors of No Man's Land to pull Mitch out of the wreckage of his biplane, and stumbled into even greater danger-a supernatural horror that they only survived thanks to the faith and courage of an elderly nun. Now Sister Angelique was asking Mitch to return to Europe to face an unknown evil that was feasting on the most vulnerable.
Could Mitch say no?
