Résumé
Ontology of Governance is a theoretical inquiry into why many organizations fail before management begins. Rather than approaching governance as a managerial function, regulatory mechanism, or institutional arrangement applied after an organization is formed, this work examines governance as a prior condition of organizational existence. It argues that governance precedes structure, execution, and performance, and that many organizational failures originate not from poor management, but from unresolved ontological conditions.
Drawing from long-term theoretical research, the book reframes governance as a minimal and structural phenomenon that determines whether an organization can exist coherently, persist over time, and accumulate value. In doing so, it challenges conventional assumptions in organizational studies, corporate governance, and management theory. This book does not offer frameworks, tools, or prescriptive solutions.
It is written for readers interested in foundational questions of governance, organizational existence, and institutional structure, and is intended as a standalone theoretical contribution for scholarly reference and critical discussion. Ontology of Governance serves as the canonical work associated with ULG Research Center and is informed by the broader framework of Ultra-Light Governance, which approaches governance as a lightweight and pre-operational condition rather than a managerial system.
