Some poems have expanded, some have been distilled, and some have been given an almost entirely new structure.
In this way, the voice of the past has not been erased, but allowed to speak again through the experience of the present... For this reason, Yes, I Do Care cannot be confined to the category of protest poetry. Nor is it merely a collection of religious poems. It is a book of:social conscience and personal reckoning, the subtle passages between witness and prayer, the case outside and the trial opened within the self.
