Résumé

Four years later, Rhiannon Fairfax found herself staring at the same man in an airport lobby. Her flight had been delayed and she was bored and nervous. The man she was staring at in amazement was a gorgeous specimen of the male sex. He was a tall, dark-skinned man with feline features. He had an impressive physique, as evidenced by his broad back and shapely hips, from which hung designer jeans. His outfit was completed with a white shirt and a leather jacket.
I was sure it was the same man I had shared a taxi with four years ago!Beside him was a woman almost as striking. She was tall and slender, also with dark hair, and very well dressed. It was a shame she spoiled the whole look with her submissive attitude. He was giving her orders, and she was obediently following them. When he had finished his string of instructions, he suddenly smiled at his companion, who blushed.
Rhiannon thought the woman seemed transported to paradise. Then he left. Once alone, the stranger looked around. Yes, Rhiannon had no doubt about it. She remembered those perfectly blue eyes and that air of a man who always achieved whatever he set his mind to.Rhiannon found herself smiling at the memory of the taxi ride. When she realized he was staring at her, she was stunned. The stranger took his time examining her stylish, short haircut, her well-cut, elegant gray pantsuit, and her black blouse.
He was watching her so intently that Rhiannon felt goosebumps rise on her skin. Then the stranger met her gaze, shrugged, and turned away. Rhiannon blushed from head to toe. He obviously hadn't recognized her. No wonder. With that damn hood! And he must have thought she was flirting with him!Rhiannon bit her lower lip as she recalled the strange conversation they had had in the taxi. She was still thinking about it when she was called to board.
As she did so, she noticed the stranger was in business class on the same plane as her. During the flight, he tried to console himself by telling himself that the man must have some kind of flaw. He was undoubtedly arrogant and vain. So, by the time they landed on the Costa Dorada, he had managed to regain his balance, more or less. She'd been concentrating on her new job for half an hour. Generally speaking, you could call her a housekeeper, but if you wanted to be really precise, you'd say she specialized in working for the rich, and sometimes the famous, for short periods of time.
Specifically, she reorganized their homes to run as efficiently as possible. Sometimes, she was hired only for a specific event. It certainly wasn't what she'd dreamed her life would be like. Growing up, her family had never lacked money because her parents were rich and famous, but since her mother died, Rhiannon had been forced to work for a living. Then it occurred to her that the time she had spent at a very expensive boarding school in Switzerland could serve not only to make her a good young lady but for something more useful.
The result was that now, at twenty-six, she had her own agency specializing in coordinating service staff, decorating, cooking, and everything else needed to run a home. Normally, she never accepted jobs that lasted more than a month. The one she was about to start would last that long and would be paid extra. Rhiannon had learned to value her work and charge for it.
