Evangelische Bildungsarbeit hat lange Zeit vor allem auf die Städte geschaut. In ihnen schienen sich die Herausforderungen der Moderne zu bündeln. Die ländlichen Räume kamen, wenn überhaupt, als Problemregionen in den Blick. Das aber greift zu kurz. Die Veröffentlichung der Bildungskammer der EKM widmet sich dieser Herausforderung und nimmt Evangelische Bildungsarbeit in ländlichen Räumen in ihren Facettenreichtum in den Blick.
In einem ersten Schritt bietet sie Verständigungen. Sie betreffen den Raum ("Dorf"), die Akteurin ("Kirche") als auch das Aufgabenfeld ("Bildung"). Das damit abgesteckte Themenfeld wird im zweiten Teil exemplarisch vertieft, um abschließend im dritten Teil handlungsorientierende Impulse für evangelische Bildung in ländlichen Räumen geben zu können. The challenges of modern times seemed to be displayed in them. If at all, rural areas were seen as problem regions. This, however, would be an oversimplification. Reality is more complex. The publication of the chamber of education of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany (Bildungskammer der EKM) dedicates itself to this challenge and takes a closer look at Protestant educational work in rural areas in all its facets.
First, it provides a deaper understanding of key concepts, such as the space ("village"), the actor ("church") as well as the field of work ("education"). Drawing on profound examples in the second part, the articles concludes with action-oriented impulses for Protestant education in rural areas.
