Dick est à son apogée et vient pulvériser le monde de la SF traditionnelle avec ses personnages à part, souvent marginaux, dans une Californie grise où se percutent les folies humaines. C'est le cas dans Dr Bloodmoney, qui compile parfaitement tous les thèmes cher à cet auteur : pas de superhéros, mais des personnes lambda (avec parfois des pouvoirs psi), toujours une zone de flou concernant la réalité - une réalité altérée ? - le tout avec une précision hallucinante dans la description psychologique des personnages, Un roman parfait pour débuter avec K.
