Die Kommunikation des Evangeliums konkretisiert sich im Christsein als einer attraktiven Lebensform. Den Grundimpuls geben dafür das Auftreten, Wirken und Geschick Jesu. Dieser Impuls wurde - wie ein Blick in die Christentumsgeschichte zeigt - immer wieder von Neuem kontextualisiert.
Auch heute bezieht sich Christsein als Lebensform sowohl konstruktiv als auch kritisch auf Gesellschaft und Kultur.
Dies wird am Beispiel der basalen christlichen Kommunikationsformen - Segnen, Beten und Erzählen - sowie der in der Mimesis Jesu stehenden Kommunikationsformen - Taufen, Mahlfeiern, Predigen - gezeigt. Den Abschluss bildet ein Blick auf das Theologiestudium und die Veränderungen, die dringend notwendig sind, um das Christsein als Lebensform zu fördern. Das Buch des bekannten und anerkannten Praktischen Theologen Christian Grethlein ist ein unverzichtbarer Baustein in der anstehenden Debatte und gehört darum in die Hände möglichst vieler Hochschullehrer, Studenten und Pfarrer.
