Résumé

Lagos, present day. In the port of Apapa, a customs officer clears container 47C for loading aboard the Black Pelican - a massive cargo ship bound for Antwerp - without inspection, for a fistful of dollars and a look the other way. He doesn't know what he's letting through. He doesn't want to. Twenty-three days at sea. That's all it takes. Midway through the English Channel, a violent storm forces open what was meant to stay hidden in the forward hold.
Within hours, all twenty-five crew members are dead. In his final moments, the captain manages to send a distress call. Container 47C did not hold ordinary cargo. For two years, a German pharmaceutical laboratory had been running classified experiments - pushing boundaries that should never have been crossed. What those experiments produced is now loose, aboard a ghost ship drifting toward the French coast.
A French Navy Special Forces unit is dispatched to board the vessel. In the darkness of the holds, facing something no military manual could have prepared them for, the operators must press forward, hold the line, and make choices no one should have to make. Black Cargo is a maritime thriller rooted in procedural realism - port logistics, special operations tactics, and the ethics of scientific research - that asks how far human responsibility extends when greed and ambition push science past the point of no return.
