BENEATH the SHATTERED SEA

2026 - A novel and entirely fictional. Lieutenant Commanders Jack and Matt began their Navy careers together at the same university through ROTC, where the Navy helped pay for their college education and prepared them for lives of service. Their paths later diverged into two demanding specialties: Jack became a submarine officer, while Matt earned his wings as a Navy aviator. Both are experienced officers, trusted with urgent assignments that require skill, judgment, and absolute secrecy.
Away from duty, each man has a young family waiting at home. Matt is the father of a five-year-old daughter and a two-year-old son, while Jack has a three-year-old boy. Their families give them something deeply personal to protect, even as their careers repeatedly pull them into dangerous missions far from home. Jack and Matt are part of a special Navy emergency-response team known informally as the Winged Submarine, combining undersea expertise, aviation support, engineering, and rapid deployment.
When a top-secret submarine is sent underwater on a time-sensitive mission, the operation suddenly goes wrong. Thick mud engulfs part of the vessel, damaging one of its engines and leaving the submarine in danger while submerged. Jack, Matt, and five Navy submarine engineers are rushed into an emergency repair operation. Working under pressure, they must take apart critical sections of the submarine, identify the damaged systems, and restore the vesselbefore the mission fails.
With limited time, hidden dangers, and a classified mission, the team must rely on training, trust, and teamwork to bring the submarine back to life and complete an urgent operation in the ocean below.
