Saint-Étienne's Cathedral in Bourges is a masterpiece of gothic architecture that was built in the first half of the 13th century and was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1992 because of its "striking beauty, combining masterly handling of space with harmonious proportions and decoration of the highest quality".
Jean-Yves Ribault is an alumnus of the Ecole des Chartes and the honorary Director of the Archives for the département of Cher. He has conducted many studies on Bourges Cathedral and on the Berry monuments. Hervé Champollion specialises in illustrating travel guides and guide books.
