Résumé

We think we know what delegation is but few of us do it well, or even at all. It leads, argues Dave Stitt in this compact and sharply observed meditation, to capability choke points in teams and organisations, burned out managers and bored, under-deployed staff. Delving into the anatomy of effective delegation, Stitt builds a set of repeatable techniques for empowering and inspiring people around us, so that great things can start happening, even if it's not us doing them.
Dave Stitt has been coaching executive teams for nearly two decades. Before that, as a civil engineer, he rose to senior management positions in national construction and engineering firms. He has raced in over a hundred triathlons, winning several, and represented Great Britain in the 1991 Triathlon World Championship in Australia. He and wife Sue have two creative sons and live in Washington in the north east of England.
He is co-author of 21st Century People Leadership.
