Résumé

YOU WERE BORN TO SOLVE A PROBLEMYou were not created by accident. Somewhere in this world, right now, there is a gap only you are positioned to fill, a burden only you can carry, a life that will be lighter because you finally stopped drifting and started walking on purpose. This book tells the story of a dying old man and his thirteen year old grandson, sitting on a park bench, walking to a river, standing at a graveyard, waiting at a bus stop, as the old man hands down ten questions he wishes someone had given him when he was young.
Questions about purpose, ambition, daily discipline, suffering, grief, legacy, and the problem only you were born to solve. This is not a book of easy answers. It is a book of the right questions, the kind that will quietly reshape how you live for the rest of your life, whether you are thirteen or eighty. You were born to solve a problem. It is time to find out what it is.
Sibusiso Mahlangu was born on 5 October 2001 in Lydenburg (Mashishing), Mpumalanga, South Africa. His journey as a writer began long before he ever published a book. In Grade 6, as a quiet and naturally introverted learner, Sibusiso discovered writing as a way to express his thoughts and emotions. At the time, he was not writing books. He was filling pages with song lyrics, unknowingly laying the foundation for the author he would one day become.
In 2023, he published his first book, The Journey of Self Discovery, marking the beginning of a remarkable literary journey. Since then, he has continued to write books that inspire, challenge, and empower readers, including Life After Matric: Thabiso's True Story and You Were Born a Genius. Beyond books, Sibusiso has established himself as a motivational speaker, podcaster, and digital creator. Through more than 1, 100 YouTube videos, he has consistently encouraged people to believe in themselves, pursue their purpose, and remain resilient despite life's challenges.
His work has earned recognition both locally and internationally. He has been featured in major South African newspapers, including Daily Sun and The Sowetan, and his books have been acquired by public libraries, including the Dubai Public Library, allowing his words to reach readers beyond South Africa's borders. What makes Sibusiso's story remarkable is not where he started, but how he refused to stop.
With limited resources but an unwavering commitment to his calling, he has continued to build a body of work that proves persistence can take ordinary beginnings to extraordinary places. Today, Sibusiso Mahlangu continues to write with one mission: to inspire people to believe that their circumstances do not determine their destiny, and that one decision, one book, or one act of courage can change the course of a life forever.
