It is a world where the human rights of poor people are subservient to the human rights of rich people. It is a world of hypocrisy dominated by toxic and truth-twisting rhetoric and interminable propaganda about idealized freedom and ideal democracy.
It is a world where democracy has been reduced to merely regular elections and majority rule. The elections are nothing more than highly polarizing, chaotic and violent campaigning and voting every few years. And the legitimacy of majority rule is one that serves the interest of the elite, the rich, the dominant group and the powerful. It is a world where might makes right, and the greatest military rules the world.
It is a world of perpetual political theatrics, fact-twisting rhetoric, and massively-funded political influencing campaigns. Are we becoming so cynical that we are putting the future of humankind in serious jeopardy? Can we do better for the good of all humanity?It is time the world carry out a critical self-reflection and radical reorientation. It is time to refocus on human dignity and the future of humanity.
