Résumé
Francis Xavier was born in Malta but spent more than twenty-nine years abroad. Brought up in a typical Maltese Catholic family, he became a priest and later went to Peru as a missionary. He eventually settled in England after resigning from the Church. On his return to Malta, an opportunity arose to attend a Tantric workshop on the sister island of Gozo, something outside of his normal curriculum as an artist and spiritual facilitator.
As an ex-priest, he was taught that God works in mysterious ways, and with a thirst to discover his true emotional feelings, he listened to his inner voice saying, 'Why not quench your curiosity by venturing into the unknown?' The time was ripe for him to go beyond his suppressed fears and denials, and be true to himself. After the workshop, he began the cathartic adventure of writing about these experiences and his sexual expression, or lack of it, from his childhood years up to today.
He shares his journey on the long road towards inner happiness, self-healing, and emotional maturity leading to creative adulthood. This book is an open and personal account of an individual's adventure of finding himself through his own sexuality and spirituality; both of which have neither gender nor denomination or national boundaries as both are a common experience to us humans. The author also shares his journey to his Soul Retrieval.
So, Francis' story is also our story and our own personal journey on the road towards fulfillment and realisation of self. This self-reflective autobiography is interesting, fascinating, funny, daring, open, candid, intriguing, mind-boggling, instructive, challenging, and enlightening, and is certainly 'worth the trip!'
