Based on the life of French author Restif de la Bretonne, this is the third volume in a series of novels recording the whole course of his remarkable career. A printer by trade, Restif was to achieve fame as a popular author, and his literary works were largely based on the events of his own life."Wanton Whores" is a sequel to "Young Harlots of Paris" and describes more of Restif's amorous adventures as a young man.
The number of his conquests is quite astonishing, and in his memoirs written many years later, Restif offered the following explanation:"It occurs to me that people will wonder-How did I manage to have so many adventures?
