Set in the 1920s, when the British Empire was at the height of its power, this novel describes the sexual adventures of Miss Belinda Belmont, an English girl who is plagued by a constant itch between her thighs. Her father is the manager of a rubber plantation in Malaya and he sends her to a boarding school in England to receive a proper eduction. Belinda is expelled from the school, however, after the Head Mistress learns that she has had sex with the son of the local publican and she returns in disgrace to Malaya.
In Malaya, Belinda is soon involved in a series of erotic encounters with members of both sexes, including the Sultan of the Malay state of Johore. Meanwhile, the English community in Malaya has become increasingly alarmed by the mysterious disappearances of English girls, all of them under 25 years of age and most of them blonde.
