Urban Desires

This modern retelling of Madame Bovary fast forwards to a world 200 years after the original work.  Based in New York-not France- the mundane and repetitive nature of life is still harshly faced and critiqued by Emma Bovary, the great-great-great-granddaughter of the original adulterous farmgirl. Emma Bovary's life appears perfect on the surface: a lucrative career, a stylish apartment in Brooklyn, and a well-respected husband, Franz, who is a kind-hearted but somewhat dull doctor.
However, Emma's restless spirit craves excitement and passion that her routine urban life fails to provide.  While attending a high-profile industry event, Emma meets Léon, a charming and creative man of mystery. They quickly form a deep connection, sharing a love for marketing, music, and the finer things in life. Léon is captivated by Emma's intelligence and beauty, and they begin a dance of intrigue. She dives into her past to redeem her present.  On a trip to Paris, she realizes the mistakes of her mother, but in duality she learns from these mistakes.
Standing in front of the Eiffel Tower, she discovers a universal truth. Will the enormity of the situation prove to be too much pressure or will it be perceived for what it is- immense power?  Emma is faced with an unknown future.  Will she give it her all, or will she yield to nature's unending mysteries? In the end, Emma Bovary emerges as a stronger, more self-aware woman who understands that true happiness comes from within.
