In appearances, the universe was full of diverse beings, and not all were friendly. The League had just encountered Vampires, and what the League had learned were called LayChays. Now, League borders would be on a constant alert. The League didn't want a war, let alone a two-front war, but that became their destiny. Before the all-out war, League starships had begun a mapping process of both Vampiric societies.
A war effort would require an understanding of what the League was up against. As part of understanding both Vampire and LayChays sections of space, the League had discovered a species called Sleep Walkers, basically Zombies. The League planned to include the Sleep Walkers as an unwitting ally by appearing that they were attacking both Vampiric species. The League had made a first strike against the LayChays and was preparing to do the same against the Vampires.
At the same time, Vampires and LayChays were planning their attacks on the League. Even as Justice was reuniting with Linder, militant factions on Eripmav planned to capture Linder, a ruling Council family member. An armed wing that would prefer going back to their roots and dining on people. Justice had learned that for centuries, Guardians had been Guardians in name only. That would not sit well with him just watching the travesties taking place in the universe.
