Résumé
THESE REMNANTS OF SELF by JULIAN BOUNDA poetry collection by award winning documentary photographer and National Geographic contributor Julian Bound. From the author's own experiences in the sentiments of love, solitude and being, 'These Remnants of Self' also explores what it is to follow a life steeped in creativity - painting, photography, music, writing, each facet of being eclipsed by the journeying across the world within the learning grounds of travel and exploration.
Inspired by the receival of teachings from the Indian mystics of the India's northern Himalayan regions, and those of the Buddha's principles from the Buddhist monks of Tibet, Bhutan and northern Thailand, 'These Remnants of Self' is the third part of a trilogy of books exploring the soul and its eternal workings through traditional and Japanese haiku poetry. Accompanied by 'The Awareness of Being' and 'In Solitude's Grace'.
An exploration of the essence of being and what sets all individuals apart; the characteristics which embody what it is to be our own true selves. ABOUT THE AUTHORBorn in England, Julian is a documentary photographer, film maker and author. With photographic work featured on the BBC news, his photographs have been published in National Geographic, New Scientist and the international press. His work focuses on the social documentary of world culture, religion and traditions, with time spent studying meditation with the Buddhist monks of Tibet and Northern Thailand and spiritual teachers of India's Himalaya region.
Present for the Nepal earthquakes of 2015 he documented the disaster for eighteen months whilst working as an emergency deployment photographer for various NGO and international embassies in conjunction with the United Nations. The author of novels 'The Geisha and the Monk', 'Subway of Light' and 'Life's Heart Eternal', when not on the road in Asia, Julian is based in the UK.
