Résumé

THE LITTLE BOOK OF INDONESIA by JULIAN BOUND From National Geographic photography contributor Julian Bound, a photographic journey through Indonesia. A collection of award winning photographs of Indonesia. From Jakarta, Yogyakarta and Malang's streets to the volcanic landscapes of Mount Bromo and Ijen volcano, where sulphur miners clamber up 800 metre stone trails carrying 90 kilograms of brimstone across their shoulders in homemade baskets, all mined beside the world's largest sulphuric acid lake at Ijen's base.
A unique insight to Indonesia and including a selection of portraiture work of the Indonesian people. Ideal as a gift for those who have already visited Indonesia or for those yet to explore the country. The Little Book of Indonesia - part of a series of books which include: Little Books on Nepal, Tibet, Thailand, Bhutan, Cambodia, India and Japan. ABOUT THE AUTHORBorn in England, Julian is a documentary photographer, film maker and author.
With photographic work featured on the BBC news, his photographs have been published in National Geographic, New Scientist and the international press. His work focuses on the social documentary of world culture, religion and traditions, with time spent studying meditation with the Buddhist monks of Tibet and Northern Thailand and spiritual teachers of India's Himalaya region. Present for the Nepal earthquakes of 2015 he documented the disaster for eighteen months whilst working as an emergency deployment photographer for various NGO and international embassies in conjunction with the United Nations. All photographs by Julian Bound.©JulianBound2020
