Résumé

Pjetr has spent years chasing a dream that almost everyone-including himself-has learned to doubt. A struggling writer in Warsaw, he has an unfinished manuscript, a painful past, and little faith that his stories will ever become more than words on a screen. Then, by chance, he meets Emil-a thoughtful, ambitious architect who sees something in Pjetr that Pjetr has almost forgotten how to see in himself.
What begins with an unexpected encounter over unfinished pages slowly becomes friendship, attraction, and finally love. But love doesn't make Pjetr's fears disappear. When a literary publisher offers him the opportunity he has dreamed about, success comes with a price. Deadlines, revisions, interviews, travel, and public attention threaten to pull Pjetr away from the man who has become his home. For Emil, loving Pjetr means confronting his own fear of abandonment and learning that supporting someone doesn't mean sacrificing himself.
As distance separates them, letters, photographs, memories, and quiet promises keep them connected. They discover that love isn't measured by how many miles stand between two people, but by how often they choose to reach for each other. Through disappointment, career pressure, jealousy, uncertainty, and second chances, Pjetr and Emil must learn that a lasting relationship isn't built by avoiding difficult moments.
It's built by staying when things become difficult. When Pjetr's novel finally reaches the world, he discovers that the greatest achievement isn't seeing his name on a published book or hearing the applause of strangers. It's knowing who will be waiting when the applause ends.
