Résumé
On a storm-lashed night in the city of Birj, veteran police officer James is called to investigate a brutal murder. The scene is unlike anything he has witnessed in his long career: satanic symbols scrawled in blood, a mutilated body arranged in ritual form, and at the center of it all - an ancient, black grimoire. When James takes the book as evidence, he unknowingly binds himself to a curse written in blood.
What begins as a criminal investigation soon spirals into a descent through nightmares, occult rituals, and hidden societies where power is bought with sacrifices and oaths to Lucifer himself. Haunted by visions, drawn into forbidden baptisms, and hunted by demons of smoke and shadow, James is forced to confront a horrifying truth: the crime he tried to solve was only the surface of a deeper, older conspiracy.
His journey leads him from back alleys and crime scenes to the legendary Well of Barhut in Yemen and the ruined city of Sifar, where the line between the human and the inhuman vanishes. As saints, sorcerers, and political elites reveal their allegiance to the same dark master, James must choose - cling to his fading faith, or surrender to the seal that binds him to Azazel, Lord of the Abyss.
