Résumé

A mighty king longs for one thing above all else-a son to inherit his throne. When a wise babalawo prepares a magical pot of stew meant to help the king's wives bear children, jealousy and betrayal begin to grow inside the palace walls. The king's two older wives secretly eat almost all the magical stew, hoping to prevent the youngest wife from having a child. But fate has other plans. Months later, all three wives become pregnant.
The older wives give birth to daughters, while the youngest gives birth to a baby boy. Fearing that the child will one day become king, the jealous wives hide the newborn deep in the forest and replace him with a stone. Banished from the palace and treated as an outcast, the young mother is left heartbroken and alone. But in the forest, a kind old herbalist named Ikumejakako discovers the abandoned baby and raises him with wisdom, kindness, and the secrets of nature.
As the boy grows into a brave and intelligent young man, he has no idea that he is really a lost prince. Years later, after the king dies without a known son, the kingdom falls into confusion. A sacred prophecy reveals that the true heir lives in the forest. When the young man returns to the village, the people are amazed by his noble presence-but the greatest mystery remains: Who is his real mother? To uncover the truth, every woman in the village is asked to cook a pot of stew.
Rich women prepare grand meals filled with spices and meat, while the poor outcast mother can only afford simple forest vegetables. Yet when the young man tastes her humble stew, memories deep inside him awaken. Filled with emotion, he finally discovers the truth about his past.
