Résumé

The phone was disconnected. It still rang. When James Whitaker moves into Ashford Hall, the last thing he expects to find is an old black rotary telephone abandoned on a cabinet in his college dorm room. The line has been cut. The connection has been removed. The phone should be nothing more than a forgotten relic from another time. Until midnight. At 2:47 every morning, the impossible call begins.
At first, James and his roommates believe someone is playing a cruel prank. But when the disconnected phone rings, when the receiver moves on its own, and when a strange shadow appears inside their room, they realize the truth:Something is trying to reach them. The phone is not haunted. It is a doorway. As the six students investigate the history of their dorm room, they uncover hints that previous residents may have heard the same impossible sound years before.
The phone has been waiting in the darkness, searching for someone willing to answer. And once a connection is made, breaking it may no longer be possible. The Line That Wasn't There is a chilling supernatural mystery about friendship, fear, and the terrifying things that can cross through a connection that should never exist.
Having spent years working in global corporations alongside people of diverse faiths, cultures, and beliefs, the author has gathered a wealth of stories from around the world - whispered legends, passed-down folklore, and personal encounters that blur the line between reality and the unknown. He is fascinated by the intersection of the supernatural, the eerie, the suspenseful, and the terrifying. His stories are not built on blood or violence, but on the shadows of the human mind - psychological unease, creeping dread, and the fear that lingers long after the last page is turned.
As he often says, when you truly encounter something beyond explanation - a ghost, a presence, a whisper from another time - perhaps the bravest thing you can do is stay calm. After all, that figure in the dark may once have been someone like us, with a story of their own, waiting to be heard. or remembered.
