The Paper Vigil

The first snow always brings a new paper figure. For years, the people of Grayhollow have watched them appear inside an abandoned chapel-silent witnesses made of paper and thread. When folklore researcher Dr. Miriam Hale arrives to uncover their origin, she discovers a forgotten ritual, a buried secret, and the memory of a child who has been waiting beneath the chapel since 1870. The figures are not haunting the town.
They are remembering it. And now Miriam must decide whether to end the vigil-or become part of it.
