THE LAST BATTLE AT STALANGER FJORD: The finale of the Silver Helmet Trilogy

In the last of the Silver Helmet trilogy, a flotilla of Viking longships and fishing boats sailed serenely into the deep waters of the Stalanger Fjord. After the defeat at the Redron Sea there was a muted and a somewhat relieved atmosphere aboard the vessels instead of a celebratory homecoming that usually heralded victory from expeditions in foreign lands. Magnus, the advisor to the slain Earl, Stenfeld the Red, had taken on the mantle of leader for the defeated Viking army.
However, some of the younger warriors were still smarting from the defeat at the hands of the united force of the Calton and Godron clans. The leader of this cohort is a young warrior called Ragnold and he is determined to carry on the malevolent work of his dead earl. Ragnold accuses Magnus of misleading the earl and makes a plan to eliminate the advisor as he grabs power by force of arms. He has vowed to destroy anything or anybody who had the nerve to stand in his way and he dedicates himself to exact revenge on the Godrons and Caltons with no mind to the devastating effects on the people who live around the Stalanger Fjord.
