The Hollow of Whispering Pines

Something is wrong with the kids in Oakhaven. They sit too still. They stare at nothing. They forget the names of their own pets. Thirteen-year-old Leo collects things nobody wants - bottle caps, broken compasses, rusted nails. Junk, his mom calls it. But when he digs up a heavy iron key at the edge of the Whispering Pines, it hums in his hand like it's been waiting for him. Kids are walking into the woods at night and coming back empty.
And whatever lives in the Hollow is getting hungrier. Leo is running out of time. If he doesn't find what's hiding in the old manor house at the center of the fog, he'll lose everything that makes him him. Turns out, the things nobody else wants might be the only things worth keeping.
