This book aims to comment on the legal norms of the European Union which, in an especially hostile security context, enable the strengthening of the Union's defence capabilities and the gradual development of a "European Defence Union"-something that, until only a few years ago, seemed inconceivable given that this area falls, at least in principle, within the sovereign competences of each Member State.
