Fact:A few days before 9/11, a number of unidentified people invested heavily in the stocks of American and Untied Airlines and Transamerica Insurance. They bought "put options" in the belief that the stocks would drop in price. After the attack, those individuals made $22.7 million dollars. No one was ever investigated or brought to justice. Fast forward to the present:A brilliant economist, antagonist Willem Coetzee, has been fired and disgraced by the EU.
He is planning his revenge. He will buy "put options" on the Euro in anticipation of a fall in the currency, which he will guarantee by killing the three individuals most responsible for holding the EU together. American Code 6 operative, Paul Decker, and the beautiful, but deadly, Mossad officer, Alex Stern, pick up the scent and begin to pursue this deranged man through Europe as he leaves a trail of dead bodies in his wake.
Willem Coetzee is as maniacal as he is brilliant, a man driven by revenge who enjoys playing with his targets, torturing them mentally and physically before killing them. And the closer they get to capturing him, the more violent and unpredictable he becomes. Even with the assistance of Paul's brilliant East European hacker, Pavlik Lasky, INTERPOL, a tough Amsterdam cop, and a prisoner from Pollsmoor Prison, they remain one step behind the fiend as he slices a path of death through the heart of Europe.a chase more intense that that of the Jackal stalking Charles De Gaulle.
As the chase comes to a head, Willem has killed two of the three men responsible for maintaining the EU, and comes within a hair's breath of killing the last one, only to be tracked down and killed by Paul and Alex at the last possible moment.
