Résumé

During my personal search for answers, I read as much material as was available to me on the subject of Taoism. This is as yet not a very well understood subject here in the West and I found much that was seemly unconnected. However during my search I came across a reference to a particular pattern that is not currently explained. It appeared to be obscured, in that the textual references were very confusing and not at all clear, hiding its true importance.
To understand and to bring out an explanation to this hidden pattern, I have pieced together from my research a coherent background rationale. This rationale rests on The ancient Taoist symbol and the spiritual practices of the Mao-Shan school. This new pattern I have shown to be a mirror, and we can look into this and see both our conscious and unconscious selves as never before. This mirror shows us our balance and flow of life energy.
Tracing the origin of the mirror led me back to the Mao-Shan school. We find that the Mao-Shan revelations that gave their name to the school have much to say about mental health and inner peace. Using the mirror I have connected these revelations to observations about ourselves that psychologists have been making in the West in more recent years. Leaving aside the technical contents in this book, there is a very simple and easy message to leading a meaningful and fulfilled life and that is to bring your conscience and awareness into everything that happens to you.
And on the other side the more difficult message is that you have to go inside your mind and body to tackle issues that prevent you from achieving fulfilment. Within this larger sized book there is much to interest everyone, each and every time it is dipped into, taking what you need now and leaving the rest for later.
