Résumé

The scripture is clear from the onset that, GOD made man in HIS own image and likeness. GOD HIMSELF, being both a SPIRIT and a Triune being, HE made man also to be a spiritually inclined triune being, consisting of the spirit of man/breath of life, a soul, and a body. The fact that the scripture says that the WORD of GOD cuts to separate the soul from the spirit (Hebrews 4:12d) means that, in the fall of man, the soul of the man appended and closely attached itself to the spirit of man.
This fusion made it impossible for man to distinguish between his/her soul and spirit, although the two are distinctly different and separate the same way the mind differs from the heart. The fall made it almost impossible for people to access and to connect to and by their spirit man unless there is spiritual intervention. Men lost their spiritual consciousness, except through the means of a spiritual medium.
Many times, this spiritual assistance does not come from clean and pure spaces, and the intentions are oftentimes ungodly and insidious. This fastening to the spirit did the soul while inclining itself to the fallen nature of man, as well as to the external material world, which is ruled by the prince of the power of the air. When the devil deceived Eve in the Garden of Eden, he did this by stirring up her physical sensual senses and desires; hence the fall was caused by her desiring and eating from the forbidden fruit.
What this means is that her soul inclined itself to the physical material world while attaching itself to her spiritual inner man for livelihood and sustenance. This act of attachment, the soul did in order to usurp life from the spirit man, while fulfilling the fleshly carnal desires of the mind and of the flesh. This is the reason why the spirit needs to be liberated or severed from the soul. Life consists in the spirit man (John 6:63, Genesis 2:7b), the soul has no life on its own.
For the soul to be functional and mobile, it usurps life from the spirit of man. In this booklet we will endeavour to outline this process of splitting and separating the spirit from the soul, this we will do through the guidance of the scriptures, while outlining the importance and the benefits of this exercise to a believer. Let the journey begin!
