Résumé

Please note: This is a companion version & not the original book. Sample Book Insights: #1 I bought a book called The Sirius Mystery by Robert Temple in 1979. It was a historical detective story about an African tribe that every sixty years enacted a ceremony called the Sigui, during which their priests put on masks and performed a complex dance. This was a renewal ceremony based on the apparent motion of Sirius. #2 The Egyptians were the greatest astronomers of the ancient world, but their knowledge was restricted to a small group of initiates.
They may have had a secret knowledge of the stars, and it may have been passed down through the Dogon tribe. #3 The land of Egypt was the result of the Nile River, which was fed by the reservoirs of Lake Tana in Ethiopia and Lakes Albert and Victoria in Uganda. The Egyptians had good reason to worship the Nile, which was the manifestation of the gods. #4 The two kingdoms of Egypt were originally separated by the Nile River, and were ruled by two separate pharaohs.
The capital of Upper Egypt was at Nekheb, near Hierakonopolis, under the protection of the vulture goddess Nekhebet. The capital of Lower Egypt was at Pe, a town in the Delta.
