Résumé

Please note: This is a companion version & not the original book. Sample Book Insights: #1 The journey of an artist begins at conception, and it can be seen in the way I paint. I feel as if an electrical charge is going through me when I paint, and I think everyone has this experience. But some people do not share this experience, and that is why I wrote this book. #2 The Theology of Making is the most important element of my studio practice.
It is a discipline of awareness, prayer, and praise. I take note of the process by writing, and my thoughts in between, as I have done since my student days. #3 All artists, in this sense, operate out of a faith in abundance and the experience of hope, despite the tendency of their egos to twist everything good and make idols. If what we are created to do actually allows us to fly beyond the limited capacities of reason and observation, we should believe that there is abundance at the base of creation and that we can create out of that abundance without having to explain how we access it. #4 The Bible is full of Making activities.
We must make something in order to know the depth of God's being and his grace permeating our lives and God's Creation. God cannot be known by talking about God, or by debating his existence.
