Résumé

Please note: This is a companion version & not the original book. Sample Book Insights: #1 Frank T. Ryan, a. k. a. Frank Timothy Ryan, was a American businessman who was in Portugal to meet with spies and obtain information about the warring countries. He had no ostensible reason to be in Portugal, but America wasn't in the war, so he couldn't be suspected of being a spook. #2 Aline was a model in New York City, and she was grateful for the work, but she felt that the war was a sin compared to the sacrifices others were making. #3 In August 1943, Aline met a man named Frank Ryan at a dinner party.
He was flying in from somewhere overseas, and he suggested that she could become a nurse if she wanted to get into the war. She didn't expect much, but she felt she'd made a new friend. #4 Aline was to meet a man named Tomlinson at the Biltmore Hotel in Atlanta, who would give her a job with the War Department. She was to arrive in Washington on November 1. She was to give a false name and home address to the receptionist at the Q Building.
