Summary of Julian Baggini's The Edge of Reason

The currency of philosophy of religion is supposed to be rational argument, but it can't buy an opposing position at any price. #3 The big arguments carry weight. And intellectuals do not like to admit this because it brings them down to the same level as simpler people, like Homer Simpson. #4 The central fact about the worship was blindingly obvious: the Holy Spirit was not at work at all.
It was all people's doing. The reality of God is obvious to some believers because it feels or seems obvious, and no one other than the believer is required to verify its obviousness.
