Summary of B W Melvin's A Land Unknown

I was terrified of sleep, and I tried to fight the onrushing drowsiness. I could not stay awake. I began to drift back to pleasant memories, before all this began. #2 The crypts were the place to be in the 1970s. They were located near the ruins of an old church, and they were the perfect place to tell an old legend about a headless man roaming the land.
#3 The legend of the headless man was told to illustrate the fact that we are all looking for something that will make us whole again. In reality, no one knows if there was a headless man in that ancient grave, but the moral is clear: we are all looking for significance in our lives at the expense of others. #4 I was brought back to reality by an intercom. I was in a hospital, and my friends were joking about death when I was young.
I didn't want to sleep, but I was too weak to fight off the weariness.
