Résumé

Please note: This is a companion version & not the original book. Sample Book Insights: #1 Operation Alsos was a top secret mission that was an offshoot of the Manhattan Project. It was tasked with tracking down and capturing German scientists who were believed to be working on atomic, biological, or chemical warfare. #2 Goudsmit and his team read the documents, and found out that the University of Strasbourg had been doubling as a biological warfare research base for the Third Reich.
They also found out that the Nazis were conducting human medical experiments. #3 In December 1944, a party was under way at a medieval showpiece called Varlar Castle in Germany. The castle was being readied for a celebration. On this night, the banquet hall was decorated in full Nazi Party regalia. #4 The V-2 rocket was the most advanced flying weapon ever created. It was 46 feet long, and could travel a distance of 190 miles at speeds up to five times the speed of sound.
Its earlier version, the V-1 flying bomb, had been raining terror down on cities across northern Europe since the first one hit London in 1944.
