Clearview is the leader of a group of Quakers who wish to migrate to California. This chance meeting will lead Shandunka on another set of harrowing adventures.
Here he meets the siblings Sally and Alex Hayes, and Clearview's bodyguard, Alex Winston. They will all get involved in Shandunka's trials, including a showdown with Bolton himself, a cougar, and several Apache warriors. If he survives all of this, he can regain the honor he lost when he allowed Little Cub to be killed. If he survives and endures he can finally return to his tribe with the scalps of Little Cub's killers.
