Résumé

Songbook with 30 songs by Turlough O'Carolan - simply notated for the Soprano or Tenor Recorder with baroque fingering. Turlough O'Carolan (1670-1738) was an Irish composer and harpist. At the age of 18, he contracted smallpox and went blind. He then learned to play the harp and began composing. His works were influenced by both traditional Irish music and courtly European Baroque music. With over 200 known compositions, he is still considered Ireland's greatest national composer.
He also coined the word "Planxty, " which refers to musical greetings and songs of thanks in honor of his hosts and supporters. Each tone of the melody is shown with fingering images for the recorder, these are placed under the classical music notation. The sounds of the songs are available online in a sound player with adjustable playback speed. Videos explain how to read music, download files with the recorder fingerings are also available online.
Long songs in the printed book are also available as PDF downloads - no more scrolling necessary. Web address and access data in the book. For advanced player.
