Résumé

In 1955, Sylvia Hellman embarked on a pilgrimage to India that would transform her life and ultimately revolutionize the interpretation of yoga in the West. With only six months to study with her guru, Swami Sivananda of Rishikesh, she must leave everything behind so that she can become Radha. From the doubts, discomforts and fears of travelling alone in India, to the profound and often mystical events of life at the Sivananda Ashram, Radha: Diary of a Woman's Search is a rare invitation onto the path of a spiritual aspirant.
Her engaging pilgrimage will take you inside the heart and mind of one of the foremost yoginis of our times. A remarkable story from an extraordinary woman.
Swami Sivananda Radha (1911-1995)  Swami Sivananda Radha was one of the first Westerners to present yoga as a spiritual and philosophical system applicable to daily life. A disciple of Swami Sivananda of Rishikesh, she became a swami in 1956. Swami Radha is a respected author of classics in the field of yoga, most notably Kundalini Yoga for the West and Hatha Yoga: the Hidden Language. Realities of the Dreaming Mind is the synthesis of her teachings on Dream Yoga, which grew out of her forty years of studies, lectures and workshops on dreams.
Her method emphasizes how yogic practices can deepen an understanding of the spiritual dimension in dreaming. Her unique approach to analyzing and interpreting dreams can be used to increase awareness, cultivate intuition and explore the depths of the unconscious. Swami Radha founded Yasodhara Ashram in British Columbia Canada in 1963, a yoga retreat and study centre that is one of the longest running spiritual centres in North America.    Yasodhara Ashram, yoga retreat and study centreBox 9, Kootenay Bay, BC, Canada, V0B [email protected]
