Basmati rice is known as the King of Rice and is priced for its characteristic long-grain, subtle aroma and delicious taste. Punjab, Haryana and Western Uttar Pradesh are traditional basmati rice growing areas. Cotton plays a dominant role in the Indian agricultural and industrial economy. One of the most important fiber crops, cotton is the very base of textile industry (70%), and contributes a major chunk to agri.
