Nada the Lily

The Zulu century told by an old man to a white hunter: Chaka's rise, the impis, the killing grounds, Umslopogaas who was Chaka's son and did not know it, and Nada, the most beautiful woman in the land. Haggard heard these stories from Zulu who had been there, and this 1892 novel is the only one of his with no European in it at all - he thought it his best, and the Zulu themselves recognised the history.
