After a Horticulture Symposium at Las Cruces, New Mexico, Sara tells Ben that she has offered her friend Julie a ride home to Tucson.  They were going that way since he was taking Sara on a honeymoon to see the barrel cactus in Arizona. Julie, a wealthy ranch owner and college professor, likes Joe and decides she would like to join his family.  Although Joe finds her attractive, he tells her his other wives would never consent to him marrying her.
