Insurrection

In 1970, an armed movement fights to obtain the independence of Québec; it abducts James Cross, consul of the UK, and kills Pierre Laporte, leader of the government. The story of Insurrection begins in June 1968 and ends in the winter of 1970. The action takes place mostly in Montréal. Pierre Turgeon has staged in this surprising novel all the characters of the insurrection that shook Canada. To defeat the terrorists, Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau, father of Justin Trudeau, proclaimed the War Measures Act, which suspended all civil liberties.
We follow the hunters, the victims, the hunted, the witnesses.
